Camp Black Hawk
is an amazing experience for girls ages 8 - 17!

CBH is an all-girl camp located in the northeastern portion of Wisconsin.  We are passionate about creating a safe environment that allows girls to explore individual interests, build leadership skills, discover new talents, make new friends, and experience an adventure of a lifetime.   CBH helps build girls of courage, confidence, and character!

Letter from the Director Minimize

Hi!

Welcome to Camp Black Hawk! I find it hard to believe that for 13 summers I have had the pleasure and honor of working with girls as the director of Camp Black Hawk.  Even after all this time, I am just as excited for the upcoming summer as I was that very first summer.

Camp is an amazing place where girls are able to explore the great outdoors while being safe and having fun!  Our programs are not only fun, but they also build confidence, foster a spirit of cooperation, allow girls to form an appreciation of the natural environment, and develop leadership skills and self-esteem. We encourage our campers to reach their fullest potential!

Camp is jam-packed with exciting adventures! I encourage you and your camper to sit down and decide together which camp experience best suits her. No matter what camping adventure you choose, your camper will have a chance to make lasting friendships, develop new skills, learn more about nature, and have lots of fun in a safe environment.

Staff employed at Camp Black Hawk is selected carefully. They undergo intense training to ensure that your camper will have a safe and memorable camping adventure. You will see in the camp brochure that this year we are offering something new regarding pricing.  I hope you’ll take advantage of our high value, low cost camping programs and join us this summer at Camp Black Hawk.

This year, you will see something new related to the cost of camp.  We have introduced tiered pricing.  The three-tiered pricing structure provides families three pricing options for camp. Families choose to support Badgerland summer camp at a level that they can afford by checking the appropriate box on the registration form.  Please know that regardless of tier a family chooses, the camper’s experience is not affected in any way!  The pricing structure is confidential and no qualifying information or additional forms are required to choose a lower tier.  And, as always, camperships are still available.

So . . . what do the tiers mean?

Tier 1: is our full fee which includes direct expenses and both long term wear & tear and depreciation. We ask families to pay this amount if they have the financial means to do so.

Tier 2: is partially subsidized by Badgerland Council and is for those families that cannot afford the full fee, yet still want to support camps.

Tier 3: the lowest-price tier. We encourage families to use this tier if this is the most affordable option for your family. This is the most heavily subsidized tier fee.

Please note: tiered fee levels are only available for resident camp sessions. Troop Camp, Me & My Gal, My Guy & I, and Family Camp have only one fee option.

Please note: grades refer to the grade a girl will enter in the fall.

Again, please take the time to look through this Web site with your camper and help her find the adventure that is right for her interests and appropriate for her age. If you have any questions or concerns about your camper’s participation, please contact me anytime at the Madison Girl Scout Service Center at 608.237.1146 or at 800.236.2710 X 1146. Or, feel free to e-mail me at mailto:rathsackk@gsbadgerland.org.

Happy Camping,
