Hi everyone, and welcome to Camp Black Hawk! This will be my 12th summer as the director of Camp Black Hawk, and I am just as excited for the upcoming summer as I was my first summer. Camp is a place where girls are able to explore the great outdoors while being safe and having fun. Our programs are not only fun, they also build confidence, foster a spirit of cooperation, allow girls to form an appreciation of the natural environment, and develop self-esteem. We encourage our campers to reach their fullest potential!
Camp is jam-packed with exciting adventures! I encourage you and your camper to sit down and decide together which experience best suits her. No matter what camping adventure you choose, your camper will have a chance to make lasting friendships, develop new skills, learn more about nature, and have lots of fun in a safe environment.
Staff employed at Camp Black Hawk is selected carefully. They undergo intense training to ensure that your camper will have a safe and memorable camping adventure. You will see in the brochure that again this year, we have noted the actual per girl cost of a camp program. We make every effort to keep our camping experiences affordable.
Black Hawk Council subsidizes all camp programs anywhere from 25 % to 75% per program. So, the cost to you is reduced to the fee listed here in the camp brochure. An additional savings can be obtained by registering before March 15th! I hope you’ll take advantage of our high value, low cost camping programs and join us this summer at Camp Black Hawk.
Once more, please take the time to read this brochure with your camper and help her find the adventure that is right for her interests and appropriate for her age. If you have any questions or concerns about your camper’s participation, please contact me anytime at the Girl Scout Center at 608.237.1146 or at 800.236.2710 X 1146. Or, feel free to email me at rathsackk@gsbadgerland.org
Happy Camping,
Kim “Tigger” Rathsack, Camp Black Hawk Director
